Bethany Beach is one of Delaware's more popular beaches, making up part of what is known as Delaware's Quiet Resorts. Naturally, there are a number of water based activities available at Bethany Beach, including fishing and swimming, however there are also many attractions that are located further inland. Much of the action in Bethany Beach is centered around the Boardwalk and the Bandstand at the end of the Garfield Parkway. For visitors wishing to get around in Bethany Beach, there is a shuttle that runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day to ensure that all of the attractions are accessible. Every year, the town of Bethany Beach stages a large Fourth of July celebration which features a parade, fireworks, a house decorating contest and a horseshoe competition. Bethany Beach also hosts an annual arts festival on the Boardwalk that showcases some of the local talent.
